Switching hosts this weekend

10.31.2008 by Bob 2 comments

Just a heads up, I am going to be switching hosts this weekend. If everything goes as planned the site shouldn’t be down much in the transition. But, if you happen to stop by and the site is down, you now know why…

You can try pushing F5 if it says it is not showing up.

Nuru Personal Finance plastic cards

The nice folks from Nuru just sent me a packet of their personal finance flash cards. It is a really interesting idea they have. Each card covers a different financial topic and provides bottom line, “CliffNotes” type information about the topic. As they say, “The purpose of (the cards) is to give you the knowledge you need to make strong, smart financial decisions and to take control of your financial future.”

Mark 6:31

Wise words for election time

10.25.2008 by Bob 4 comments

I had this passed along to me and thought it was worth sharing. Enjoy. During this election year let’s be reminded of these words: “* You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich.* You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong.* You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift.

New US dollar coins

10.24.2008 by Bob 26 comments

What do you think about the new US dollar coins? As you may have heard, the U.S. Mint has been encouraging Americans to start using the new dollar coins rather than $1 bills. In fact they are going to be spending about $12 promoting the project. Since coins last a lot longer than bills, the Federal Reserve estimates that replacing dollar bills with coins would save the country over $500 million.
