$40 survey for CPF readers

by Bob on October 17, 2008

(Added 10-18-08: Thanks to everyone who participated. They have now gotten enough responses and the survey is now closed.)

I have been working with a development team on a new debt reduction tool designed to help people manage their debts and get them paid off faster. They asked me and a few others who seem to live and breathe this stuff for feedback. In talking to them I found out that they are trying to get some survey responses from about 50 more people. This is where you come in.

The survey

I took the survey myself, just so I could give you more accurate details. There are actually 2 surveys, the first one pays $10 and is basic and simple questions about your debt situation and what would help you get out of debt. It took me 8 minutes to complete.

The second survey which pays $30 requires that you go play around with the tool and then provide feedback. The feedback portion is very short – it only took me about 3 minutes, but they may want to call you to ask you a few questions (less than 20 minutes). Either way, whether they call or not, you will get paid $30.

Who is eligible to take the survey?

Anyone who currently has any (non-mortgage) debt.

How long will it take?

If you do both surveys and do not get a call, it should take 20-30 minutes.

How will I get paid?

They will send payment via Paypal within 3 days. If you do not receive your payment please email me.

Ok, I’m in, now what?

1st Surveyhttp://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=D8bx6ddALi1KlZI2zULkoA_3d_3d

2nd Survey – Go to DebtGoal.com, fill out your name and email, and after logging in spend 5-10 minutes playing with the site looking for things you like and things you don’t. Once complete, go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=kN4lmoeyE0Yg1XgSte_2bfWw_3d_3d and answer a few questions about your experience with DebtGoal.

(Added 10-18-08: Thanks to everyone who participated. They have now gotten enough responses and the survey is now closed.)

A few more notes…

  • It is only open to the first 50 responders – so don’t wait too long.
  • Also please give the best and most accurate answers you can. I appreciate what these guys are doing and I hope we can provide them some good feedback to make this product better.
  • They will be tracking IP addresses, so only do one survey per household.
  • If you have any questions or problems, let me know and I will get in contact with the developers.

I came across your blog a few weeks ago and have frequented it many times since. I appreciate the info, thoughts, and challenges you share. Thanks!

I took a moment during my lunch break at work today and tried out the website and took the surveys. Interesting service they’re putting together. I think the usefulness of it correlates to how complex and varied one’s debt is.

Interesting site that has tons of potential. I appreciated learning about it and the fact that I got paid to evaluate it was a bonus. According to the site I am presently on track to be debt free by 2011 so it didn’t really recommend anything for me. That said, nothing wrong with being told that if you maintain what you are doing now that you will be debt free.

I too thought it was interesting. It was nice to learn about it and be able to look around the site, and as Christine mentioned, getting paid is a plus.
It looks like it’s going to be a great service.

Yea, I am excited about what the guys have planned. The version you all saw was a mock up version and they have a newer and improved version in the works. The guys really have a passion for doing whatever is going to help people get out of debt, so I appreciate everyone helping out with this…

I’d love to get the $40 but I’m debt FREE! Funny that I need to be in debt to earn the $40. Oh well. I’d rather be debt free.

I just got the $10 in my Paypal account. I don’t think I’ll be getting the $30 for the second survey. I never saw the $30 mentioned anywhere except for here. Did anyone else get it?

I also got the $10 in my Paypal account last night; and still waiting to see if the other $30 happens. I hope the dev team is able to put our input to good use and am interested to see the final product in the future.

Hi Bob;

Unfortunately, I missed the $40 survey on your website. However, I would like to know if there will be any more surveys such as this one in the near future? I have tried Toluna, Global Test Market, esearch, etc. and they only give points for contests, and most of the surveys are very long for so little. God bless–Bonita
