		<description>Thanks for the comments guys!  Kevin, that&#039;s a good point to ask for the payment plan up front, that way both parties know what to expect.  

What my wife and I found was that more often than not doctors and hospitals were willing to work with us when we had the right attitude.</description>

		<description>We&#039;ve used #5 a  number of times, but more of them are asking for the deductible portion to be paid prior to procedures being done.  

It might help to ask for a plan before even undergoing any procedures.</description>

		<description>I like the first two suggestions best. They&#039;re certainly two I often forget to think seriously about. Thanks for putting them out front.

I know my attitude toward my finances is probably the most important part of learning personal finance, but at the same time, most often ignored.

And now that I&#039;m down here in the comments, I have to agree with Ken (above) too. This is just an all-around sound post - a great reminder.
