We have been going giveaway crazy here lately. But when sponsors pop up and want to give away such great prizes, I just feel like I can’t pass up the opportunity for you to get a chance to win!
Who is the Sponsor?
Bonds Make It Easy.org is a not-for-profit that is trying to get the word out about how you still get receive a savings bond with your tax refund.
Apparently, since the Treasury department stopped selling paper bonds in January 2012, the only way to get paper savings bonds is through your tax refund. All you have to do is fill out Form 8888 and indicate how much of your refund you’d like to go into Series I US Savings Bonds, from as little as $50 up to $5,000.
I honestly haven’t heard much about savings bonds in a while, but did you know that they are currently paying an interest rate of 3.06%? I challenge you to find a money-market account that is even close to that rate.
So if you are interested in getting some good ‘ol savings bonds, after you complete your free tax filing you need to fill out Form 8888 and you can go to BondsMakeItEasy.org for more info.
