I've seen relatives first hand. An uncle owned 7 coal mines. He still painted his own garage in his 90's. His wife hired a cleaning lady only when she got older, to help her scrub things she couldn't do by herself. Another relative bought into appearances after being in ML sports, even when his income dropped, and so has nothing. I don’t need to read the book. I’ve seen relatives first hand. My parents remarked once about how many young couples want everything their parents have - a big house, nice cars, a boat, etc. What many young couples fail to realize is that their parents had many years of meager living behind them - living below their means - that allowed them to have what they did later in life.
