I found this great quote from our 30th President – Calvin Coolidge about the importance of sticking with a thing.
While I will not be taking theological lessons from him, I agree that persistence is a tremendously underestimated quality to have…
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”

Very inspirational. Fortunately, I have had persistence in my life to take the place of lack of genius. Many successful people have failed many, many times before finally having a breakthrough!
Persistence & Determination both are necessary traits to have. I agree with you Bob, they are very much underestimated.
Thank God that through his Son we have access to these traits unconditionally.
Victory is ours in Christ=)
I love that quote as well. It kind of reminds me of Romans 5: 3-4:
“Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Persistence can open a lot of doors. During the difficult times, it’s important to remember that persistence WILL pay off with time. Thank you for sharing this quote with us Bob!
He definitely has a point. But may I just say, “easier said than done.”
