As ChristianPF.com has grown, more and more people are finding their way to the site who are in need of a Financial Advisor to help them make investment decisions. If you have been around a little while, you probably know that I am more of a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to investing, but I also think that a having a trustworthy financial planner on your team is a great idea.
After working in the brokerage industry for five years I know how important it is to have a planner who is trust-worthy and whose interests are aligned with yours. This is why I am creating the directory, to hopefully simplify the process for you.
Launching the ChristianPF directory
My goal with the directory is to point readers who are looking to Christian financial planners in their area. Since the directory is brand new, I don’t have all the details nailed down, but my current plan is to find a few great planners from each state, rather than having a bunch listed. I am much more interested in finding a few great ones to refer readers to rather than having “too many” options.
Right now, I am looking for planners who…
- Acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
- Understand stewardship and the importance of building God’s Kingdom
- Promise to always be honest with their clients
- Earnestly desire to improve their clients’ financial lives by offering Biblically sound investment advice
Getting listed on the directory
I priced a few other directories and noticed that many cost well over $1000 a year. At the time of this writing ChristianPF is averaging about 80,000 visits each month, but since the CPF directory is brand new, I decided to price listings at $200 a year or $350 for 2 years. It has already turned out to be a whole lot more work than I expected, so I don’t expect to leave the price that low in the future – but it works as an introductory price. If you are (or know) someone who you think would be a good fit, please contact me or fill out the ChristianPF Planner Directory Application.
Finding a planner in the directory
If you are looking for a planner in the ChristianPF planner directory, I have a few suggestions.
- Financial Planners typically offer advice on managing investments and other financial products. They rarely offer advice about budgeting, getting out of debt, or money-saving techniques.
- While I am looking for honest and trust-worthy planners, I can’t make a guarantee on someone else’s behavior, so I suggest that you prayerfully choose one after interviewing them to be sure you are on the “same page”.

Sounds like a good idea! I’d hope these CFPs would also be independent (fee-based) rather than trying to sell me a product.
Very interesting to read here in you blog. YOu have great ideas! Go on that way!
Bob, have you heard of Kingdom Advisors, started by Ron Blue. this might be a good connection for your team, as they have a membership base of Christian Advisors (legal, financial, etc.). A good group of men and women that i’d recommend highly.
