Yes Bob, i really do agree that Work encourages personal responsibility. Because of Work, a person can be responsible in his chosen field. That is the reason why at early age there are some parents who wants their kids to be trained doing useful things because, it can help them build their character. Having a long time doing nothing useful can really be boring and it is not good. Just imagine yourself that is watching television for almost two weeks and eating after it, too boring.

Having work is really exciting aside from that fact that it is really helpful but workers need to know that they need rest from their works, that is the reason why there are days off from work. A day without work just like what God did have, the Sunday as the rest day at the same time, the day to worship him together. Sunday is the most common day for day off of many workers.

@Jason
God has put us on this earth to spread his word and to tell the good news of what Jesus Christ did on the cross NOT work for work sake. How is this to be accomplish if you have to work a 40hr-60hr work week? I think you did not read the book or skip the part where he says the goal is to have "mini retirements" through out life and to never retire. Retirement is a worst case scenario just in case you are physically unable to work anymore. The goal is to not worry about currency but liberate your time to do things that make a difference in this world.

One thing that keeps knawing at my brain is I wonder if tim really works just 4 hous per week or do he just pitch a book that says he works 4 hours. Maybe he works 30 hour weeks. I just am not sure. I am sure michael gerber, rich schefren, and Jay abraham works many hours not to mention dan lok. Granted it maybe possible to work 30 minutes a day but that is only once you set up everything in your business. Ok I have written way too much,lol.

Like an ad said, "Life is just too short to have a wrong job". Many people just don't realize this and keep doing thing they don't really like instead of deliberately make free time to do what they longing for for years.

@Ginger
Good point... I completely agree about relationships - I think God designed it that way - we need each other and I think much or our joy in life comes from our relationships

I had read the book about 6 months ago. There were several items of interest and techniques that I could apply to my own life. I particularly liked his minimizing techniques. I do have my doubts though that he has accomplished or done all of the things that he lists. Even for someone who is super efficient and motivated, it just sounds a little over the top. I enjoy new experiences but he seems to live a very selfish life. When does he interface with his family? Money and new experiences are just not that fulfilling in the long term, relationships are.

I have not read the book, but it is now on my to-read list.

Work, whether it is 10 hours a week or 60 hours a week is apart of who God made us. We have been brought to work ever since the time of Adam it has been in God's plan for us to work. Genesis 2:15 Everyone has a different balance, however spending most of your time not working in some leisurely position is not what God put us here for.

@Trent
That is encouraging to hear for those of us who are still shooting for that as a goal..

@Rose
You are right - Obviously, God doesn't call everyone to be self-employed (or we would have the problem mentioned by CORY) but I believe that we can be sure that following His plans will lead us on a journey of something that we are passionate about. He puts Godly desires in our hearts for a reason.
