Who Is Jesus Christ?

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I have glorified You on earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. – John 17:1-5

Jesus Christ is the single, most important person in the Bible. Take Him out and there isn’t much left. Everything we know about Him is what we read in the Bible. He didn’t leave us anything that He actually wrote Himself. All we know about Him comes through our faith and a few men who claim to have saw Him and walked with Him. There are people who claim that these men made these stories up. My question to these people is, why would these men suffer and die for something that they knew was a lie? If what these men have said is false, then we must come to the conclusion that a deciever, a liar, has blessed the world more than any person in history. That is impossible for me to believe. I do not think that Jesus Christ was a deciever. Jesus’ prayer in John 17:1-5 gives us a clear understanding of who He is. Jesus Christ is exactly who He and His disciples claim Him to be. He is the Son of God. He is our Lord and Savior. During the first century, the Pharisees asked the most important question ever asked, “What think ye of the Christ?”. Before Jesus was hung on the cross, Pilate asked, “What shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” The answer to this question depends on how you answer the first question. Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? If your answer is yes, are you willing to give your entire life to Him and recieve the gift that He has laid before you? The gift of eternal life! If your answer is no, are you willing to spend eternity in Hell?
