I just turned eighteen at the end of February, so I have limited credit history.I was wondering what credit card is used for building credit, and would be the best choice for a person getting they're first credit card.

Elmira Nancy,
I would suggest a no fee CC.
If you are a member of a Credit Union, apply for their card. Most CU's have a no fee card, and a fee card. The nofee card typically will not have any rewards.
Or Chase has many CCs available with and without fees.

I would suggest getting only one CC and pay the balance off each month.
my suggestion would be this one by citibank called the CitiForward:

contrary to other cards that encourage you to charge more than you can pay off, this one will give you 100 reward points for actually paying on time and under your credit limit. charges at bookstores (including anything from Amazon), fast food/coffee shops, restaurants, movie theaters/video rentals will net you 5 reward pts per dollar spent (which can get you the equivalent of 3-5% cash back in gift cards, etc.). it is specifically geared towards college students so i imagine the starting credit limits will be low. plus there is no annual fee.
another caveat is that many people on this forum would suggest NOT to get a credit card at all due to the temptation to spend more than you can afford. make sure you are on a written budget and NEVER charge more than you can pay off in a month (unless it is a true emergency). you may want to open it and keep it for emergencies only for a while to make sure you can stick to your budget. God bless!

As predicted by another post... My $.02 worth - NO CREDIT CARD ! ! !
Build an emergency fund, budget, save, budget, save, budget, save, and pay with CASH.
Live within, even better, BELOW your income.
Whether you get a CC or not, this we can all agree on. If you can get this down at your young age, you are on the road to success.Originally Posted by katsinis

I agree with Katsinis, Credit Cards were the death of me.
