Your W-2 for 2011, the one you will receive in 2012 will have some new information. This will be the amount your employer has spent for your health care. This is INFROMATION ONLY, it is NOT taxable income.

This will be an added burden for employers as they must determine the value of the benefit they pay for each emplyee, part timer, seasonal, part year, etc employee.

The good news is this benefit will not add to the employee's tax bill, at least for now. Sponsors of this idea in Congress say, knowing the cost of the health care the employee will begin to take steps to control the cost.
