7 Spiritual Rules of a Successful Blog
7 SPIRITUAL SECRETS OF A SUCCESSFUL BLOG
1. Pray for a Successful Blog
If you want your blog to become successful, the first thing you have to do is to pray for it. Scriptures that you can use to pray for your blog include:
1. May my blog be full of posts supplying all kinds of information.
May my eBooks bring forth thousands and ten thousands of dollars into my accounts.
May my affiliate accounts be well laden;
May there be no hacking into my site or plagiarizing my content.
May there be no spamming of my site (Adapted from Psalm 144:13-14)
2. Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, please Command the blessing on my blog and in all to which I set my hand. (Adapted from Deuteronomy 28:8)
3. Oh that You would bless my blog indeed and enlarge my online territory by increasing the traffic to my site. (Adapted from 1 Chronicles 4:10)
2. Picture Your Successful Blog
After praying:
1. Visualize the number of visitors you want to visit your blog each day.
2. Visualize the number of subscribers via RSS and email that you want your blog to have.
3. Visualize the Google PageRank and Technorati ranking you want your blog to reach.
3. Prepare for a Successful Blog
To prepare effectively:
1. Choose a niche topic that you love talking about and then get ready to put all that talk into words.
2. Read what others are currently saying about your topic of choice both online and offline.
3. Choose a blogging platform such as blogger or wordpress and then choose your domain name.
4. Produce for a Successful Blog
After completing the spiritual work, you now have to do the physical work. Be diligent and learn from the 21st century psalmist who says:
I surfed the blog of a lazy blogger, and the website of a site builder devoid of understanding.
And there it was, all overgrown with pop ups and flash ads; its surface was covered with spelling mistakes. Its links were all broken down.
When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest; so shall your poverty come like a stalker, and your need like an armed robber. (Adapted from Proverbs 24:30-34)
Therefore unfold your hands and stretch them towards your keyboard. Tap the keys and type the articles you will post on your blog keeping in mind that content is king while format is queen.
Create posts that provide value for the time that your readers will spend reading them. Then format them so that they are beautiful and easy to read by utilizing subheadings, numbered lists and white space.
Sprinkle your article with the fertilizer of keywords to make it pop up on search engines and then run the spell check to uproot the errors. Finally, post your posts on the web frequently so that search engines can spider your pages regularly.
5. Partner for a Successful Blog
Since a threefold cord cannot be broken easily (Ecclesiastes 4:12) reduce your chances of becoming broke by partnering with other sites so that you can remain visible and viable in the World Wide Web. To partner effectively:
1. Subscribe to the top bloggers in your niche and buy their eBooks and courses so that you can learn the tips and tricks of a successful blog.
2. Submit your blog to blog directories such as Blogged and Technorati or to general web directories such as Yahoo directory and DMOZ.
3. Slot in ads
Monetize your blog by joining ad networks such as Adsense and Amazon as well as affiliate programs.
6. Participate for a Successful Blog
Promote your blog by
1. Buzz about your posts on twitter and by submitting them to delicious social book marking
sites where people can stumble upon them and digg those they like.
2. Leaving thought provoking comments on other blogs in your niche and giving constructive advice in forums while including your URL in your signature.
3. Submitting articles to blog carnivals and posts to other blogs as a guest.
7. Patience for a Successful Blog
Understand that just as it takes time for crops to grow in a field it also takes time for a blog to grow in the web. Therefore do your best and then commit your blog to the Lord and your thoughts will be established. (Adapted Proverbs 16:3)
As you wait for Him to establish the works of your hands (Psalm 90: ) meditate on Scriptures to avoid being double minded as to whether your blog shall be successful or not because a double minded person should not suppose that they will receive anything from the Lord.
Scriptures that can help you set your mind and keep it set on having a successful blog even when you have very few page views include:
1. A blogger’s gift makes room for them on the web and brings their blog before great men and women. (Adapted Proverbs 18:16)
2. The plans of the diligent blogger shall surely lead to plenty of traffic, conversions and money. (Adapted Proverbs 21:5)
3. Blessed is my blog and my website. (Adapted Deuteronomy 28:5)
