Advice wanted about blog

Looking for advice/suggestions about my blog which I'm working on.
First advice wanted is about look. The three looks I have currently as possible are http://caringforcreation.blogspot.com/
http://livingwatertest.blogspot.com/ (where the Test ttt is I'm thinking of adding an image) and http://caringforcreation.wordpress.com/ or if anyone else has other template suggestions I'm open to suggestion or if anyones good with making or editing templates and wants to help I would gladly accept design help. Not the most creative person especially with visual designs.
Second is about name/url. I was initially planning on going with Caring for Creation but was also thinking about things such as Living Water or some other title that is both environmental and christian at the same time.

I definitely like the first one best, I'm guessing this is a template unless you are wrong about not being good with visual designs, if you'd like some help modifying any of these I can help you out.

Yeah the first is a template. I like it but am slightly unsure about using a template someone else made. Plus for some reason, my guess is photobucket(the image host) I cant get the template to work when I download the images and rehost them myself. The tree image works but a line that apparently is crucial to the format gets changed or something and the design gets warped horribly.
Their all templates but the 1st from an seperate sites template gallery rather than the blog host site itself.

Well I cant seem to figure out how to get an RSS feed to work since its the old style blogger not the new so unless anyone is able to help me with that I think I'm going to not use the fancy one since it seems, in my opinion, that people will be less likely to read without an rss. Unless that isnt the case, in which case maybe I'll still use it.
Do most people here read blogs by visiting the site or using a reader or subscription? And is anyone able to set it up to have a subscription and/or feed on my blog if it isnt built in?

if you're posting on blogspot, you automatically have an rss feed. The link is http://[yourblogspotname].blogspot.com/rss.xml

Interesting, when I tried to subscribe, either through browser or 3rd party sites it couldnt find any feeds. Howd you know about that link?

I'm one of the nerds who does read blogs via rss feeds so when I come across a blog that doesn't have a link to their feed I do what I can to find it. All blogspot blogs have feeds, whether the template links to them or not is another matter.

I knew all the new ones(new as in the new type of layout system they changed to) did because I could subscribe using my reader or firefoxes built in reader or a third party reader but wasnt having any success with mine doing any of those.

Another question. The comments link, on the computer I'm on now their hard to distinguish from the background but I havent been able to figure out how to change their appearance without changing the appearance of all the links which, if I make it the color of the text, blends in with the sidebar background. Any ideas on how to change just those links? Or on a different color to try that will work with the green and the tan backgrounds?

if you have access to the style sheet (which I would assume you do) add the following rule to it on a new line:

div.content a {color:#F7D561}

This will make all the links (including the comment links) in the main content column the lighter yellow of the flowers in the header graphic which has a pretty good amount of contrast and looks good with the design (IMO) Let me know if you have any other questions.

It looks good for the comments link but like when I tried doing that before the links on the left are now really hard to see.
I got the comments link only to change before by using style rgb for that specific link but wasnt able to get a # color to work that way. Used a converter to get the rgb of the color you used and it works now. Thanks, it does look good.

Still working on the sidebar links, not finalized what ones to include or if I want to add anything else. Feel free to suggest any links or things to include in the sidebar.
Planning on launching it within a week or two but have been really uninspired in my writing the last couple times I worked on posts so hopefully I am able to get some more stuff written.

I like the "caring for creation" look.
However, I would build a blog with wordpress.org not on blogspot. I like the wordpress.org platform. You have total control over content. Blogspot could ad questionable advertising in the future. Not that they will, but they could.
