Hey Guys!
I've heard a lot of different arguments, so I decided to head over on to Christianpf.com to see what you guys think!
Which is your prefered blogging platform? (i.e. Wordpress, TypePad, MovableType)

Paul,
I went ahead and turned your question into a poll as well - oh and of course my answer is Wordpress!
I don't know ANYTHING about blogs, but I really can't resist hitting open buttons, so I voted wordpress. Bob's looks nice, and I think another blog I read is wordpress, even though I get it through google.![]()
i use blogger.com. I like it for being free and the flexibility that i have with layout. i'm not a hardcore blogger or anything.
and also, why do you prefer one over the other??

Paul,
that is actually a really good question - because if I just wanted to do something quick and simple I would probably use blogger... But I use wordpress, because I have complete control (in theory) of every aspect of the website... Using blogger would be easier, but you are limited in terms of customization etc...
I chose other. I use textpattern for my blog (and soon for my portfolio site as well). I find it's templating system much less complicated and more intuitive than wordpress, though that may just be because I'm more familiar with textpattern.
I use blogger so I voted for other. I haven't really tried any other blog platforms though.
I used to use blogger, way back when it came out from something like 2000 to 2001 or so. It was alright, though it became very popular which caused it to have downtime issues (which are probably gone now that Google owns it). I didn't like how I was dependent on someone else's server/service being around in order to post to my website.
From there I switched to Moveable Type which was pretty good and I stuck with that for a few years. It ran on my own server so I wasn't dependent on someone else anymore. IIRC it stored your posts in a database but then wrote them to static html files which was a little odd but it worked (I don't know if that's how it still works). I decided to stop using MT after they changed their TOS and made you pay if you wanted to have more than one blog author. Even though I'm the only one posting on my blog for the most part, I had given access to my friends (and now my wife) and didn't want to lose that functionality.
After MT I considered WordPress but eventually settled on TextPattern because of it's more advanced feature set and it's ability to be more of a full blown CMS, vs WordPress (at the time). I've been using textpattern for something like five years now.
I use Blogger, I think because that's what all my friends used to set up their blogs. We mostly blog about our families. However, I've noticed I can't do everything I want, and it's not very easy to fix things or rearrange. You have to post your pics first then your text, or the pic doesn't appear w/ the text. You can't post text then add a pic because then you can only have all your pics at the top or bottom of all the posts. (If someone knows how to fix this--please let me know). I might try some of the other ones you've all listed, since I didn't know about them before. Thanks for sharing!
If you want free, blogspot, blogger, or wordpress on their site will work.
I prefer wordpress because I can customize it and use a tremendous number of plug ins to better SEO, SEM, run polls, etc.
It may have a cost associated with it. You have to pay for hosting ($7/month at Bluehost) plus a domain name every year. But it does allow you to develop an asset that will be easier to sell later if you choose.
It also can be set up to do just about anything without understanding any HTML though knowing some will help.

I use blogger simply because my family started a blog to keep in touch with each other and that's what they used. Plus, it is very easy, free, and I'm not a professional blogger. Maybe one day I will work up to something more customizable and/or impressive, but for now its blogger all the way.
I use WordPress but installed on my own hosting for all my blogs

Definitely Wordpress. I've also used Concrete5 and a few others, but Wordpress seems to be the tops right now

I voted 'other' as I use Blogger. I chose Blogger because of my prior familiarity with Google, because it's free, and because everything that I need to maintain the site can be found on my Google Dashboard. I also find it to be very intuitive and user friendly. Because I hear such raves about WordPress, though, I may consider them for any future blogs that I may create.
I have a Tumblr account ! : O
I like the way it's set up and how smooth everything looks and I also enjoy the reblog feature, very nice.
Though you can't really comment on Tumblr posts, which is what I sort of dislike about it. :/
hey....
me also use blogger so i will chose other....
i think it has best feature as compare to other...

Hi Paul,
I like Wordpress because it offers the option to develop a complete web site around your blog, if desired. There's also a plug-in for just about any need you could have. I started out with Joomla for my web site, but Wordpress has been a real pleasure to use.
