I am not sure where to post so as to be in the weekly drawing. Is any post anywhere in the forum good for an entry?

Question Re: Greetings! Introduce yourself here!

Just wanted to leave a quick introduction note. I stumbled across Christian PF through a google search about finances and really enjoyed the excellent information presented. I am 40, married with 2 boys 11 and 15. I live in Surprise, Arizona and we are working on paying our debt down one small chunk at a time.

    Hey, Bob!

    It's Heather B. I'm 34, a wifey, a SAHM/PT-freelancer, and mama of 2 rockin' boys.
I so badly want to "get" financial stuffs, but it's beyond Greek and is all Latin to me.
We are so grateful for your site as a resource and thank for your input re: Justin's email the other day.

I found this site recently and I think it's great! I am a fourth grade teacher married with 2 kids, a dog, cows, guinea hens, pigs and chickens, and my husband owns his own business. Personal finance has always been of great interest to me and there is always more to learn!! I look forward to visiting this site often!

    Hey all,

My name is Layne. I work as a cook at a local Christian Ministry.

My wife and I have been debt free previously, and are working towards it again.

I love seeking ways to save money, and love seeking truth within the Bible.

I run a blog site called ProminentThought.com, and I am an author with my wife on a site called ResponsibleStewardship.blogspot.com where we keep an online record of our financial events, goals, and advice. I dont mean to advertise, however I am the greatest at online introductions.

I look forward to learning from everyone on this site, and maybe have an opportunity to help others.

    Hi,

My name is Mel. I've already posted in the bloggers forum, so I probably should have introduced myself here first! I'm so happy I found Bob's blog. It inspires me, and I am excited about starting my own blog soon.

While reading through these introductions today I was surprised to learn that Bob is so young! Until I read through these introductions today I assumed him to be much older because he has such a mature and wise approach to finances. It's wonderful to see so many young folks on here getting their finances in order.

I am 40 years old and married with 3 kids and 2 dogs. I went back to college in 2004 to finally finish my bachelor's degree in English Education. In the process of that, we acquired quite a bit of debt, so we are working to pay that off.

Thanks for all you do here Bob! It's a wonderful site.

    Hello, my name is Roger,

I first heard about your website on WealthPilgrim. I listened to the last half of your live interview on WealthPilgrim this past Tuesday and then signed up for your newsletter. I am always interested in personal finance information coming from a Christian perspective. This morning I read about two-thirds of your article on starting a blog. I enjoy writing but don't feel competent enough in any one subject to start blogging. Look forward to learning more from you.

    Welcome Karo,

you don't have to know a lot about your subject to start a blog about it, this is the internet!
Seriously if you really want to start a blog you'll learn more about your chosen subject as you go.

I am new here and will tell you a bit about myself.

We live in Northern Indiana and by we, I mean, Me, my wife, daughter, and son. Other than our house, we are dept free and have been for about 6 years (We have been in this house for almost 4 years). I subscribe to the christianpf.com RSS feed and love the articles and I like free stuff.

BTW, I am the geek, but my wife is not a free spirit, but also not a geek. Maybe she is a conservative free spirit.

I stumbled upon this website when I was looking for a Christian perspective on finances. I receive the daily newsletter, which I find very informative. My husband lost his job in November, and we have had to make significant changes in our budgeting to continue to keep our children in private Christian school and keep the roof over our heads. I am so very glad to have stumbled upon this website, as it helps keeps us on track and in line with God's will for us.

    Hi Everyone!

I'm Rachel...ummm, from Canada ;) I'm 31, single with 1 beautiful Dog and 3 handsome bunnies! My money used to control me...now I control it! Thanks to DR and few others. I'm currently still in debt but that's changing. Just decided I've got to do everything I can to get rid of it... so now I'm going looking for a second job. I am really enjoying taking control of my finances. I thought before that because I had a "budget" that I should be fine. Well now I've learned and am learning. Life will never be the same!

I'm Brian, and am glad to be here....I read Christian Personal Finance regularly in my RSS reader and it is one of the best personal finance blogs out there. Good work, Bob! Though I honestly registered for a chance at the free YNAB software, I look forward to learning from the various posters here at this board. I wish I had a better personal finance IQ when I was a kid, but you're never too old to learn how to do it right!

    Evening all!!

My name is Amanda and I started reading the blogs on this site today and I am in love! I think I have pretty much read about 50% of them. I think I fall into a lot of the situations stated on here. I hope to read everything in the forum's and get ideas and tips that will help me eliminate my debt and start having a better financial situation.

I do not have a program to help me with budget right now. I am going to start with the old fashion way, paper and pencil, until I get the real gist of things. Any tips would be great.

Little background on me, I am married, 4 years now and have a wonderful 3 year old daughter, who is truely a miracle. Being born early and only weighing 1 lb. 12 oz, has made me look at life and God in a totally different way. Hopefully with God, this site and a little determination on my part, I will be able to accomplish my goal.

We sold our house and are currently renting to help cut back some of the bills. The major problem is student loans and credit cards that were obtained in college that were never paid on. About 20,000 in debt that hasn't been paid on. I am willing and ready to start getting rid of some of this.

Thanks for taking the time to start this site as well as though who participate.

This is Julie. I'm a Canadian, living in Illinois, married to an American (Frank). We have a wonderfully happy dog named Curly who shares a berth with my trucking husband. They are out for 3-4 weeks at a time, so I have lots of time available to me. I've been receiving Bob's daily blog for some time now and thought I might gain additional insight here at the Forum, so we'll see how that goes.

    Hello All,
I'm very excited that I found this site today. I was just meditating on some scripture in regards to the power to get wealth and was led to ChristianPF. I'm 29 and married with no children at this time. My wife Michelle and I are just starting our lives together so God bless you all and thanks Bob for the site.

Cool Hi, it is I - Artful Dodger

Hello to the forum. My name is G. W. Rutherford although I also go by :"The Artful Dodger". Just got registered here. I am a minister and teach history, International Relations, and Art, as well as write occasionally.

The aim is to provide instant searching capabilities to students, or anyone who writes, speaks, or is just curious. Unknown history facts will be featured. For instance, did you know there really was a "Robinhood" who had a consort named "Murren" (Marion), who was an outlaw for killing the Sheriff, had a Friar in his retinue (not named Tuck), a "big John", and a "little John", was expert with the bow, was a very large man (carried a 5'7" sword, I've seen it), and lived in a wood ( his home was confiscated) with his band of "merry men"? Yes, it's true, and he wasn't English.

By the way, if you loved the film "Braveheart", don't read the rest of this paragraph. Braveheart, William Wallace, did not paint his face with "woad" which produced a blue color. That went out of style 300 years before Wallace. He wore armor, not leather. And the French princess (played in the film by a mature woman), was only a slip of a girl in real life - not even in her teens. And, guess what, the battle of Sterling Bridge enacted in the film, did not have a bridge in the film. So much for historical correctness

I am setting up a blog on Dreamhost (RutherfordResearch). It isn't up yet, but the account is live, and as soon as I figure out what I'm doing, you're all invited over. Any help with Dreamhost and goodies will be GREATLY appreciated!
