    Default Consumer Debt Free

I just wanted to announce that my husband and I paid off the last of our consumer debt last Thursday. Yay!!!

We've been shoveling every spare cent toward our last loan, an auto loan on our truck. It's crazy to look back at how God has provided us with extra funds here and there to put toward it. The loan was about $12,000 back in January so we've paid off $12,000 in 6 months. That's just awesome!

I know we still have our mortgage payment but it feels really good that we have no other debt payments.

Now we're going to treat ourselves to a new patio door and elliptical which we've been wanting for a while now and then start building up our emergency fund.

    YAY!!!

    Wow Amata,

That is a HUGE step !! That is awesome, good for you guys. A patio door and elliptical machine sound like great rewards. Very Very cool, I can't wait till I can say the same.

You gonna scream on Dave Ramsey?

We thought about calling in. My husband is actually more of a Dave Ramsey fan than I am I think. I've only listened to the show a couple times but I think he gets the podcasts. I think I'd prefer to call in when we're totally debt free, mortgage and everything, even though we're probably about 5 years away from that still. I don't think we're really "debt free" yet. But when we get all the way there I think we'll be doing some screaming

Oh, and as for the elliptical, we will definitely use it! We have one right now that we picked up on the side of the road for free. We've been using that for a while now but it was on its last legs when we got it and I'm not sure how much life is left in it. It's not the sturdiest but we've been very thankful for it. My husband and I are both pretty active. Both his brother and mine compete in triathlons and I think my husband is going to start competing in those next year as well. He's training for it right now. I'm just trying to get ready for some 5Ks this fall.
