Giving to the poor

by Bob on October 15, 2008

As part of Blog Action Day this year, I thought I would just keep things very simple. The topic this year is poverty and I thought I wold let the Bible speak about it.

If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

James 2:15-16

He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.

Proverbs 22:9

If you are looking for a easy way to get involved and help people on the other side of the world – check out Kiva. You can watch the video below for more information about them. And here are some good giving quotes to inspire you as well…

There are a lot of people in our world that need help. Personally, by helping others I know how good it feels to know that I can make an impact on someone’s life.

I thank you for helping to get others involved!
