Sorry for the TARDY response! I just now read your comment. When I say “experiencing emotions”, I mean that one recognizes the emotion, identifies it and deals with it. I can’t deal with anger, for example, unless I allow it to surface and realize that I am feeling angry. “Internalizing hurt” means stuffing the emotion into your psyche without ever processing it. Doing so is a recipe for trouble, because that emotion doesn’t go away; it lays dormant until it decides to surface. At that point, the emotion is controlling you.

Experiencing the emotion is healthy. Internalizing it isn’t. I hope this explanation helps.

At my last job, a few people were fired at the drop of a hat. Really surprising. So I was paralyzed with a huge fear of failure. I am finally overcoming that fear a year later. Thanks for the tips

I appreciate your thought of “catching” the crisis before it gets worse. Great idea.
I know about the book QBQ but haven’t read it…yet. I have read the follow up “Flipping the Switch” by John Miller.
