I would so do this. I have become an empty-nester. All of my kid's are grown. I work from my computer and could travel. I happend to be online looking for a fifthwheel and a truck when I came across this site. My passion is inventing. I am patent pending and looking for royalties. I am very intrested in this proposal.

Respectfully

This isn't the only state doing this either. There are others that are offering incentives to get more people to migrate to their communities since so many move to the cities.
With internet available, this would be a great chance for people needing someplace to move to that work online. If there was an option of having an RV, DW or other affordable rental nearby, while the home was built, I think the interest would increase.
I don't know if many people know about those emergency homes that are very low carbon footprint, fire resistant and can be set up in about 3 days by a small crew. These are great housing kits that could become guesthouses or teen retreats after the main house is built. I'd love to be able to get one of these places. They are very eco-friendly homes with 3-4 bedroom floor plans.

I would think there would be a very finite number of people willing or able to take advantage of this deal. A prerequisite would be in the area of employment/income. Are there jobs in these particular locations? If not, is it attractive to retirees or those self employed?

Too little information for anyone to make a move on.
I would pass at this time.

I don't know if I could handle being that "rural". It is a neat opportunity though!

Bob--It isn't something my wife and I would ever consider doing, but it's a nice option to have and for some people it would make abundant sense.

Are the counties in question located near employment centers, or is income mostly something you'll have to develop once you get there?
