It’s getting to that point in the winter where I am starting to get excited about Spring. I love the winter, actually I love all the seasons, but I am ready to be able to play outside a bit more. Normally I don’t get to this point until mid-February, so it is hitting me a bit early this year.

I’ve been trying to get outside by doing a little work in the garage, going on walks, etc… But it just isn’t the same when its 35 degrees!

For all the warm-weather lovers out there, enjoy this picture with me… It will be here soon enough!

And these are a few articles I have been reading the last week or so…

And a few Carnivals that CPF was featured in…

COPF, Bankruptcy, Investing, Money Management, Personal Finance, Best of Money, Economy

Bob, thanks for the mention (Radical Self-Reliance in the New Economy).

I’ve read at least half the articles you’ve listed above over the past week, and they’re all outstanding. Thank you for including my post in such an assembly of talent!

Thanks so much for mentioning Imperfect Frugality! Have a great weekend!

p.s. I’m eager for Spring too, but it comes pretty late in the Northeast!

Thanks for the mention!

Here in Minnesota the last couple of weeks have been above freezing, and all of our snow has been slowly melting. I love the change of the seasons as well, but I’m ready for spring.

I always say… in Michigan it would be awesome if spring sprung right after the new year! :-)

Thanks for sharing my article! I hear you about Spring. As much as I don’t like the really really cold weather, winter this year is a reminder to get the hard work out of the way as quickly as I can so I can enjoy Spring when it comes. And I’ve been getting the Spring feelings quite early this year, too!:)

It’s been unseasonably warm here in Washington state, I’ve been waiting for Winter to actually come, it’s been a rough ski season. Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the mention. It already feels like spring here in Texas.

I feel your pain on spring, I can’t wait to be able to get the boat out and lay with the kids outside. It is rough being stuck indoors all the time.

Bob, thanks for including my post – I appreciate it! All the snow melted in Chicago today – it certainly makes the Spring fever increase a few degrees!

I don’t mind the winter except when it’s below freezing with a bad wind chill. When the house is getting cold inside then that’s too much! Spring will be here before we know it.

On regards to the article “How a couple paid $63,000 in 11 months”, I have to say that it discouraged me instead of helping me. I believe that the majority of people do not make $63,000 or have the blessing of a bonus every year to tackle debt, so to be honest, I felt it is unrealistic for most people to think they can pay that much or even make a big significance in their debts in such short amount of time. Of course I follow Dave Ramsey’s advise, but I believe that what most of us who are trying hard to get out of debt need is practical advise not stories on people who make so much money a year that they can pay $63,ooo in less than a year but doing some minor things like selling their “toys” or not going out for dinner. I love your column but I really felt that article was unrealistic for most people.

Can’t wait for the spring. I don’t mind winter at all but need something to break it up to look forward to since takes too long to get to spring. Heading to Miami for the weekend in 5 weeks to do just that. Now winter is much more exciting.
