Hi, I have been using Money Matters, now called Crown's Money Map Financial Software (CMMFS), since the early 90's. It's a desk top version and uses the envelope system. I do not download any transactions from banks or credit card companies (it does the ability to download). I record all the transactions myself. I'm not sure of their plans for future releases, but they do have a support blog where you can ask questions. Crown seems to be focused on Mevlopes right now. The cost of this software is between $60-$70. I have been running the software for 7 years so it's only cost me $10 a year and the cost goes down each year.

I just registered last week with this program. I don't know if it will work for me, but I can say that my experience with Customer Service has been the best I have ever experienced. They have a Live Chat available 24 hours a day, M-F. For me, the process was a steep learning curve to learn the system and a new way of thinking. Any question that was unanswered by the online Q&A section and videos, I took to the Live Chat. They were always professional and walked me through everything I needed to do or understand. They even scheduled a call-back for me this morning with a senior staff member to help with one unanswered question. This type of service is well worth the monthly fee!

I have used Mveplopes for over a year now and found their online support to be fine. I also like that they are still looking to add features and solict user feed back.

John, I haven't had any interaction with their customer service. Mvelopes has a pretty good help forum, guide and tutorials. I learned enough from those resources to use the product just fine.

I am looking for a budgeting program that can help me and my family get on track. I am down to 2 programs; Mvelopes and YNAB. One thing I really like about both is all the amazing comments about envelope budgeting and how well it works. The biggest difference between the two is that one is an on-line software, and the other only runs on your computer. I like being able to access my finances at anytime, anywhere, so I am heavily leaning towards Mvelope, BUT...I can't stop thinking about all the terrible comments about how horrible their customer service is. Should this stop me, or is the programs easy enough that I shouldn't have to worry too much about customer service anyway? Help me, I want to get something soon!
Thanks!
