My First Television Interview

Bob Lotich Interview

by Bob on October 29, 2011

As some of you know earlier this month I went up to Chicago for the first annual financial bloggers conference. I got to finally meet some of the CPF writers (who I haven’t already) as well as many other great financial bloggers. All in all it was a great experience and I will be going again next year.

While I was there I also met money-news reporter Stacy Johnson whose broadcast “is viewed by approximately 15 million people on more than 80 network-affiliated broadcast channels nationwide.”

I don’t really seek out major media exposure and I tend to turn down most opportunities. But while I was there I went ahead and did a quick little interview with Stacy just for the fun of it.

In the past I have done a few gigs on radio, but I have yet to do anything that appears on television, so you can check it out if you’d like here. (My part starts at 1:14)

Depending on where you live, you may see the video as part of your local news on NBC, CBS, ABC, or FOX. If you do, let me know about it!

Here are some blog carnivals that CPF has been featured in lately as well:

Totally Money, Money, Totally Money, Investing, COPF, BOM, Totally Money, Personal Finance, Money, Wealth, COPF, Money, Personal Finance

That was good, Bob! Short, but you got your message across. I bet you had a great time at the conference?! Thanks for your blog — I love reading it as a part of my day.

Like most of these things it was actually a lot longer, but that was what was left after it went through the editing room. And you are welcome for the blog – it is here because of people like you – so thank you!

Bob, you’re still among the best in my humble opinion. I too like reading your stuff every day.
Much better than the guy that was before you – “Jay Money”. He could not like complete like a sentence without like over-using the like word “like”. I HATE THAT… and like that’s like from a guy that like writes for like a living. I hope he writes better than he speaks. BAD – VERY BAD!

Wonderful, Bob! I loved your comments. But $10,000 a year on groceries??? I’ve fed a family of 8 on under $400/month for years.
Keep up the great work!

Bob did not say he spent 10K on groceries… some other goober did. $400/mo is a much more realistic and reasonable amount.
Bob’s comments centered around enjoying and appreciating what we have – having a “thankful spirit”.

Thanks, George, but I know that wasn’t Bob’s comment. Just couldn’t remember the name of the other goober ;) .

I thought your tip stood out from the rest–it was the only one about appreciating what you have. :)

You folks feeding your families for a few hundred dollars a month blow me away. We DO spend $10K a year on groceries. There are 9 of us in the family but still, I know we spend a LOT. We have elected to go the organic milk/some organic meat route and I have dietary restrictions due to diabetes. We’ve decided that as we can afford it, this is what works best for this season. I hope that when life is a bit less crazy that I can tackle our grocery budget :-) . But yes, there are people out there like us who really are trying to be financially responsible who spend $10K on groceries a year…

Bob, I thought what you said had great substance…..we all should be content
with what we have. You also showed the light of Christ within……
Thank you!
