....ahhhh! finally! a forum to express my protests!
look, people, we need to unite....against the banks and credit card companies!
Due to the new laws, which our stupid(or subsidized) lawmakers in Congress have set for credit card reform, we are all getting notices in the mail advising us of revisions in our interest/APR's on our accounts. They're sending them out now to beat the deadline in January when the new laws take effect. I say STOP using your credit cards! If you have credit cards, then you probably have a debit card too - USE IT!....instead of using credit cards!....pay off your credit card balances and let's eliminate these crooked companies who have been allowed to control our lives and pad their payrolls for decades now! Rise up! Let's go to battle with these crooks and show them WE have the power to control how we want to live! I'm appalled that our government is actually allowing these 'loan-shark tactics' to take place. It kinda makes all their rhetoric about 'helping the poor, or improving the quality of life for the underprivileged' significantly less believable! WAKE UP, people! These crooks are getting away with this legally! And our congressmen are feeding it all to them on a silver platter because obviously they are getting paid to do it! I say we start eliminating our problems by eliminating credit card issuers first, then let's target our elected officials in Congress who are too influenced by big business(and the monetary perks they're paid) to pass fair laws "for the people"! I assure you, if we can unite and accomplish this, they will wake up and take action to make changes! After all, if they don't think they will get our vote next election, they won't be so ready to take those "under-the-table" perks from big business (there are ways for us to keep track of this type of activity too, if we only research it). Do you want to contribute towards improving our economy? Then join the revolution! Speak up! Let's show them that we are not the stupid people who are willing to pay more and more fees, interest rates, APR's and incredibly inappropriate fees for doing business in this country! LET'S TAKE CONTROL AGAIN!

@bob I agree, the sad thing is that they do. Like cigarette companies having disclaimers and having health classes, being socially responsible is taking a proactive response to a difficult situation and when seen as the leader in taking actions could only help the company. But it doesn't look like they will start doing that. I don't know, maybe a CC company sponsoring seminars for kids in HS. Doing the right thing, then when the kids get their own CC, most likely will go back to them. just a thought.

yea, I never thought of that, but I would love to see the Credit card companies become more socially responsible. Sadly, I think they make large chunks of their profit from the ignorance of their customers...

There already is so many people in debt and it's hard to imagine companies raising rates and making things more difficult for credit card holders. They should be more socially responsible as well and have programs set up to educate users, it will benefit them in the end.
