The Great Recovery | Dave Ramsey Event

the-great-recovery

I just heard about a new thing (The Great Recovery) that Dave Ramsey is rolling out and it looks pretty cool.

He has done things like this in the past where he rallies churches and folks together for a syndicated meeting across the country (or world) and this seems to be a similar event.

According to The Great Recovery website:

What’s it about?

This economic mess has impacted all of us for over two years. The government can’t fix it, but we as believers have the answer. We’re joining forces with believers everywhere to rise up and lead our nation out—one family, one church, one community at a time. The Great Recovery is a grassroots movement that’s just now beginning to spread.

Please visit thegreatrecovery.com and register to watch, and spread the word to any church leaders you know. We’ll send follow-up emails with updates and more information.

  1. While I like Dave Ramsey, he is just factually wrong about some of the things he teaches and writes (i.e. his views on life insurance). In one of his books, he states that you should not buy variable universal life insurance because you can either have the death benefit or the value of the subaccounts, but you can’t have both. That is factually incorrect. It’s called “Option B” and it allows the beneficiary to receive BOTH the face amount of the policy AND the value of the subaccounts.

    • Mike, I believe that Dave is having to speak in general terms because he is speaking to millions of people. Of course there are going to be alternate policies out there that allow both the face amount and value of the accounts (even ones that are called whole life). But I’m willing to bet these are rare and high priced. What do you think about the great recovery? I’m interested to hear what you think we should do! The U.S. is in quite a bind. Thanks for commenting.

  2. I just found out about The Great Recovery as well (I’m a product of Dave’s FP University too) and shared this link with others, on my Facebook account, as well as my Pastor. I’m interested to hear what he has to say and I particularly like that it involves a solution that I’m sure we will not hear from Washington and other popular political pundits, and that is getting out of the crisis — God’s way.

  3. It is nice to know that there are some people who really are bold in their faith but we need to study first about the things that they are saying, does it have enough basis from the scriptures?
