The Message Audio Bible giveaway
A couple years ago I received The Message Bible as a gift from a friend. At first I was a little taken back at how “modern” of a translation it was. But as I read it more for the overall understanding of particular passages, rather than for exact translations of verses, I began to really enjoy it. I have since bought the MP3 version and I really enjoy listening to it, because it is a very simple translation that is easy to understand.
Apparently, when the Bible was written, it was done in the “street” language of the day, and the author, Eugene Peterson, wanted to write a translation that really brought the Bible into the common language of today. Personally I think he has done a good job with The Message and I think it is a great supplement to normal Bible study. So, we are giving a copy away!

Free Stuff Friday Changes
As you may know we have been having giveaways every friday for a long time. I haven’t been able to help notice that as the value of the giveaway increases the response greatly increases. So, I am tossing around the idea of just having giveaways once or twice a month and offering more valuable items each time. Basically I have a certain amount budgeted for the giveaways each month and I could either spread that between 4 giveaways, 2 giveaways, or 1 giveaway. So, if you have any thoughts, please share them in the comments.
10 Day Give
For those of you around last October, we had the first 10 Day Give. Basically, it was a challenge to give something to someone, everyday for 10 days. I found it to be a great way to help me get in the “mindset” of giving. We are going to again this year starting October 1st, so get ready! I will be talking about it a lot over the next month to try to get as many people involved as we can.

I’ve never gotten into the Message, but Max Lucado uses a lot of the quotes in his writings. And I think as an MP3 bible, it would fare very well because of it’s easy to understandedness (I just made that word).

I just ran across this article. It was posted in August I’m sure I’m too late but that is a great idea my 12 year old Loves the LORD with all her heart and I would love to download a copy of the Message Bible on her Mp3 player. Thanks anyway this gave me something to look into for Christmas!
When I first came across The Message Bible I didn’t give it a chance at all – it was so different than what we have traditionally found acceptable. A couple years later I happened across a passage that was quoted from The Message and I was blasted by how clearly I finally understood that passage. It has become my all-time favorite Bible for daily reading, devotionals, and sharing with others.

Although I have no problems reading any of the versions of the bible I do believe that The Message says it all and says it right. After reading it there should be no questions asked as they are all answered in plain everyday English. And if you didn’t believe before reading you most certainly should after it and be ready to be baptized into The Church of Christ. AMEN
