The power of nice The Power of Nice review

I am in the middle of reading The Power of Nice by Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval. It is labeled a business book, but really is a good book for anyone who needs convincing that “good guys don’t finish last.”

The Power of Nice advocates the Biblical principal of sowing and reaping in business and personal interactions with people and suggests that we should give before trying to receive. The authors show various stories where people who gave out of the kindness of their hearts, often reaped huge rewards from unexpected sources.

It does not appear to be a “Christian” book, but there are clearly Biblical principles spread all throughout the book.

Personally, the book is convicting me of some of my behaviors and I am getting some good ideas of areas that I can improve in. It is always a good thing when you can find areas in your live that need improvement.

Ironically, Donald Trump endorsed the book. From everything I have seen and heard of him, he doesn’t seem to subscribe to these principles, but maybe I am wrong. Anyway, it is a good read for the business minded and those who are not. I hope the winner enjoys it!!

Power of Nice.

I love this idea! We have a small family business called, “Two Girls and their Dad” Lawn service, and they do this anyway, but reinforcing is always a good idea. Thanks!

Power of Nice

Sounds like a great book — thanks for holding this contest! Even if I don’t win, this book is going on my “pick it up at the library” list.

Just to check (for now and future), are people outside the US eligible to win? I’m in Canada, myself.

I haven’t been reading your blog for long, but I am loving the Christian PF stuff. Keep it coming!

@Don J
Don, you know actually I have been thinking about that a little bit. I have only had one non-US winner so far and it cost me about twice as much and took up an extra hour of my time to send it internationally. ANYONE can still win, but I am trying to figure out a way to have anyone win and it not cost and require so much more of me… When I figure it out, I will let everyone know – but for now – tell your friends in China and the uttermost parts of the world, because anyone in the whole world is eligible!!

Linda Kaplan Thaler is a huge hypocrit. She writes a book on the power of kindness yet she is now sitting next to the likes of Gene Simmons, helping to soul rape auditioners on the new show CBS Jingles. They start insulting some auditioners as soon as they enter the room. How does that equate to her book. I guess her philosophy is thrown out the window at the chance to market herself and make a buck. What a joke.
