I often have to fight to keep things in their place. I have a tendency to fall back on hard work as a means to prosperity. While it is true that lazy people will be less likely to prosper, my daily struggle is fighting to keep the Word on the top of my priority list. At the time of my struggle it often seems that reading about personal finance, thinking about investments, or working to get money will lead to my prosperity. How wrong could I be? According to the bible dwelling on God’s word is absolute must in order to achieve lasting prosperity…
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Jos1.8
and…
…But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. Psa1.2-3
I do not have a full understanding of how meditating on the Word translates into prosperity. I guess that’s what faith is. I am determined to keep fighting to keep the Word in its proper place in my life, and I will bet you that it will pay off.

Hi Bob! I love how you have such a hunger and desire to learn about and immerse yourself in God’s Word. It’s exactly that desire, that will make God’s presence in your life abundantly clear in the fruit that will be produced as a result of His Word being planted in your heart. Another great quality that I admire about you is the fact that you don’t claim to know it all or have God all figured out. It’s important for people to realize that no one has God all figured out. Our Christian walk is one of personal growth which doesn’t end once we reach the last page of the book of Revelation. When we keep reading and studying (no matter how many times we’ve read the Bible), the Holy Spirit reveals something new to us. That’s how I know God is real – because His word is always changing my life. It causes physical as well as spiritual changes which only serve to bring me closer to Him. Anyway, thanks for sharing the things you’ve learned! Continue to expect and walk in God’s best!
Sincerely,
Liz Davis
