Like in the parable of the talents, it reminds us all gifts are precious and should be used to their full. Like the two good servants, God will reward those who are faithful with what has been entrusted to them. HOwever, "like the wicked servant, those who fail to use the gifts God has given them for his service will be punished and separation from God and all things good (Bloomsberg 2/4).

As I said before, talents in biblical times refrred to units of weight for precious metals. This was the measurement used in Ancient Rome and Greece. A talent was an amount of money equal to the wages of a day laborer for 15 years. During the Middle Ages, the church defined a talent as a God given gift that should be used to serve others.

Wow, that is impressive! I will have to come back and spend some more time going through it. Romans 13:8 has been a spiritual center piece of my financial life.

Best Wishes,
