We used Zander several years ago, and found the process to be about as straightforward as you could expect insurance to be. We really had no complaints. Glad to hear it went well for you.

Zander wasnt licensed in Oregon when I bought my term life insurance. Zander recommended a broker out of Oregon and we used them. I do like face to face but term insurance seems straight foward. Also ended up using same company for independent health insurnance. Good service all around.

Bob, great experience You have shared with us. I am personally a big fan of Dave Ramsey's concepts and a good friend of mine recently finished taking a coarse he offer on finances. I agree with You that times are changing and more and more consumers are opting to purchasing online. I personally educate families on the basics of finances and Term insurance is the only thing I offer customers since my clientel tends to be Middle Class America.
A great thing my friend is doing is offering educational classes to his community. I offer both face to face and online quoting for customers. The only challenge with companies when it come to online purchasing is not having the option for a personal representative that You trust to hand deliver the Life Insurance Claim should You pass away. I invite You to take a look at the website. Very educational.

@evolution
I did prefer it over meeting someone face to face (unless I knew them very well and trusted them) - and sitting down with a Insurance broker might help people who wouldn't do the homework themselves, but for me I am a bit more of a hands-on guy who would prefer to find the info myself - but that's me!

I used Zander when I was getting my policy. It was about a year ago so I don't remember all the specifics, but my experience was positive, like Bob's. I do remember calling to ask a question, and they got to me rather quickly and were helpful. I also remember that they had a problem with my policy, I had selected preferred plus as my health range (the best) but didn't qualify for that so they had to call, explain it, and give me a new quote.

I do remember it taking a while, but I think that's just the underwriting process, nothing involved with Zander or probably any other broker for that matter. After the physical it seemed to take a month or two, with them checking over my physical and getting info from my doctor.

Sounds like you had a good experience. Did you prefer it over sitting down face-to-face with someone? I realize Zander is a more internet based company. I was wondering your take on the internet base versus local (where someone meets with you in person). Is it different for you having done your homework ahead of time vs the average person that might need more insight?
